Angels & Demons

Written by Team Oasis at 23:00 10/1-2019

There have been some strange sightings in and around Vatican City in recent months. It all started when a bike supplier brought in some racing bikes a few months ago. St. Peter's square was shortly closed of and priests were seen making some jolly rounds around the obelisk. There also was a funny sprint race towards Castel Sant'Angelo. Mostly members of the Swiss guard raced each other on both old as new bikes.

First rumours were that Zwift might plan to make a new world in Rome and the Vatican should be part of it. It was fueled by the appearance of a few Swiss Guard members in Zwift followed by an enthusiastic Cardinal who organized a 'morning prayer' group ride. Would this be a new way to interact with the flock?

However, there have been more noticable events. It has been reported that a middle eastern man, who bears some resemblance to Rostam Sirjani, was allowed to enter a side gate of the Vatican. Later on a small truck of Persian Caviar entered the same gate. The odd thing about it that they unloaded goods that seemed to be all but caviar. In the weeks following several windows are rather steamy from the inside, something which usually does not happen. It is also unclear if the guest left or is still inside.

More hints could be found somewhere in September when the Pope made a surprise visit to Lake Iseo. Their he made a private walk near Piramidi di Zone. On the same day Nooky Lair, manager of Iran's succesful Team Oasis posted a photo of a visit there. Quite remarkable Don Hamstre was also in the area at that time, passing by on his way to Albania.

Had there been a sit down of some sort? What would be the topic of such meeting? How is this all connected? Are there perhaps religious peace talks ongoig between Iran and the Vatican and cycling is a way to unite the two worlds? Or has Team Oasis lost its faith and really ran downhill with its ambitions?

  What do you think?
